Their disappearances have become an election issue as the industrialist, an undertaker, and a gangster are all three aiming to become the next town’s mayor. To complicate things, a second private investigator is hired by the undertaker to look for the missing girls, and, while the two argue, another girl disappears. Now, it is time for the two to join efforts, solve the mystery, and prevent other disappearances.

I am a big fan of this author's pulp crime fiction, but this was one of his lesser efforts. The plot is just too confusing, and it goes on way too long.

Who typed it up anyway?

Print mistakes. This is horrible. Apostrophes and quotes are interchangeable in this book. I quit before finishing the first chapter. The story might be good, because it's Chase, but this reprint or lack of thereof is enough to guess this is not a legit book.
